Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization problems at scale
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Lead cross-functional R&D projects with materials science and AI teams
- Author peer-reviewed publications and patent applications
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Collaborate with government agencies on quantum security standards
- Present findings at IEEE Quantum Week and ACM conferences
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Proficiency in quantum programming frameworks and circuit optimization
- Publication record in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, Physical Review X)
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence and error mitigation
- Experience with superconducting qubit architectures or ion trap systems
- Security clearance eligibility (DOD Level 3 preferred)
- Fluency in Python/C++ with quantum computing libraries
