Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Develop error-correction protocols for quantum processors beyond NISQ limitations
- Collaborate with hardware teams to prototype quantum-resistant cryptographic systems
- Lead cross-functional research initiatives with government and academic partners
- Publish breakthrough findings in Nature Physics and IEEE journals
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory
- Secure $1M+ in annual research grants from DARPA and NSF
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum simulators (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Strong Python/C++ programming skills with low-level optimization experience
- Familiarity with quantum machine learning frameworks (PennyLane, QML)
- Active DOE/NIST quantum security clearance preferred
