Responsibilities
- Develop novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum supremacy claims using 500+ qubit systems
- Collaborate with cryptography teams to design post-quantum security protocols
- Author peer-reviewed publications and patent applications for quantum innovations
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum error correction techniques
- Secure external funding through NSF and DoE quantum research grants
- Present findings at premier quantum computing conferences (QIP, IEEE Quantum Week)
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with quantum focus
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent quantum computing journals
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Strong background in quantum information theory and many-body physics
- Experience securing $500K+ in quantum research funding
- Proficiency in high-performance computing environments
- Clearable background check for government research partnerships
