Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for real-world applications in machine learning and optimization
- Lead experimental validation of quantum supremacy claims using superconducting qubit systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant computing
- Publish peer-reviewed research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor junior researchers and cross-functional engineering teams
- Secure federal grants (NSF, DOE) and industry partnerships for quantum initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Computational Mathematics with quantum focus
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published research in quantum information theory or quantum machine learning
- Proficiency in Python/C++ with quantum simulation frameworks (Quil, PennyLane)
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical models into experimental protocols
- Experience with low-temperature electronics and RF quantum control systems
- Track record of securing competitive research funding
