Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for practical commercial applications
- Lead breakthrough research in quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize quantum circuit designs
- Publish findings in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, Quantum)
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants through DOE and NSF programs
- Mentor postdoctoral fellows in quantum information theory
- Develop patentable IP for quantum cryptography solutions
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum information theory
- Expertise in linear algebra and quantum mechanics fundamentals
- Proficiency with high-performance computing environments
- Strong track record of securing research funding
- Experience with quantum hardware interfaces (IBM Quantum, Rigetti)
- Clearance for DOE/NIST collaborative projects preferred
