Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for practical applications in machine learning and optimization
- Lead experimental validation of quantum circuits on superconducting and photonic platforms
- Collaborate with engineering teams to develop quantum error correction methodologies
- Publish high-impact research in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Secure external funding through NSF, DARPA, and industry partnerships
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to lab's quantum education initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years research experience
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq) and simulation frameworks
- Demonstrated expertise in quantum algorithm design and complexity analysis
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems or photonic quantum processors
- Strong publication record in top-tier quantum computing venues
- Ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical implementations
