Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error correction techniques to stabilize quantum systems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware prototypes
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to improve qubit coherence times
- Publish research in top-tier journals and conferences (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Secure and manage research grants from government agencies
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum computing principles
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of quantum computing research experience
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Strong background in quantum information theory
- Published work in peer-reviewed quantum computing literature
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems
- Expertise in machine learning for quantum applications
- Ability to secure federal research funding (NSF, DOE, DARPA)
