Job Description
Join Nexus Quantum Labs at the forefront of computational revolution. We're pioneering quantum algorithms that will redefine industries by 2026. As a Research Scientist, you'll design and implement quantum systems that solve previously impossible problems in cryptography, materials science, and AI optimization. Our state-of-the-art facility in San Francisco offers unparalleled resources and collaborative environments where your breakthroughs become tomorrow's innovations.
We value curiosity as much as expertise. You'll work alongside Nobel laureates and MIT alumni in an agile, interdisciplinary setting. Your contributions will directly shape the quantum landscape, with opportunities to publish in Nature Physics and lead patent portfolios.
Responsibilities
- Develop novel quantum algorithms for NISQ-era hardware optimization
- Design error-corrected quantum circuits using topological qubit architectures
- Lead cross-functional teams to integrate quantum-classical hybrid systems
- Author peer-reviewed publications and technical whitepapers
- Collaborate with hardware teams to define quantum processor specifications
- Secure $2M+ in research grants through DARPA and NSF proposals
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development (IBM Q, Rigetti, or IonQ)
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proficiency in Q#, Qiskit, or Cirq programming frameworks
- Publication record in top-tier quantum computing conferences
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum information theory
- Experience with high-performance computing environments
