Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware performance using cryogenic systems and photonic processors
- Develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computation at scale
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals and present findings at international conferences
- Collaborate with engineering teams to translate theoretical models into practical quantum computing frameworks
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to strategic roadmap for 2026 quantum computing milestones
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years of research experience
- Proven expertise in quantum algorithm design (Shor's, Grover's, VQE, etc.)
- Proficiency with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and simulation frameworks
- Strong background in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Experience with cryogenic systems, superconducting qubits, or photonic quantum processors
- Publication record in Nature/Science or IEEE Transactions on Quantum Engineering
- Ability to secure external funding through NSF, DARPA, or industry partnerships
