Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and simulation applications
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to prototype quantum circuits on superconducting and photonic platforms
- Lead cross-functional R&D projects integrating quantum machine learning with classical AI systems
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature Physics/Science and present at major quantum conferences
- Develop quantum error mitigation strategies for fault-tolerant computing architectures
- Secure $2M+ in research grants through NSF and DoD quantum initiatives
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers and drive quantum literacy across the organization
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years research experience
- Expertise in quantum algorithm development (Shor's, Grover's, VQE) and quantum programming languages
- Proficiency with quantum simulation tools (Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane) and high-performance computing
- Strong publication record in top-tier quantum computing or physics journals
- Demonstrated experience securing competitive research funding
