Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop novel quantum error correction protocols for fault-tolerant systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams on qubit coherence and gate fidelity improvements
- Lead research initiatives targeting quantum advantage by 2026
- Publish findings in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and cross-functional engineering teams
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant proposals
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years research experience
- Expertise in quantum algorithms (Shor's, Grover's, VQE) and quantum circuit design
- Proficiency in quantum computing frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane)
- Strong publication record in quantum information science
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion qubit systems
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex multi-disciplinary research projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
