Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware prototypes at cryogenic temperatures
- Develop error-correction techniques to enhance quantum gate fidelity beyond 99.9%
- Collaborate with hardware teams to translate theoretical models into practical implementations
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier quantum computing journals and conferences
- Secure and manage research grants from NSF and DARPA quantum initiatives
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum computing curriculum development
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years research experience
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published work in quantum error correction or fault-tolerant architectures
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and high-performance computing environments
- Demonstrated experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti)
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation
