Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead cross-functional teams to integrate quantum solutions with classical high-performance computing systems
- Publish groundbreaking research in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum processors
- Collaborate with hardware teams to prototype quantum accelerator architectures
- Secure $5M+ in government and private sector research grants
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers and PhD candidates in quantum information science
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum computing specialization
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in top-tier journals (Nature/Science/Physical Review X)
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proven track record of securing research funding
- Strong background in machine learning and high-performance computing
- Experience with quantum annealing hardware (D-Wave, Rigetti)
- US citizenship or permanent residency required for government contract work
