Responsibilities
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of quantum researchers in developing error-corrected qubit architectures
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for practical industrial applications
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize quantum-coherent systems at cryogenic temperatures
- Secure $5M+ annual research funding through NSF and DARPA proposals
- Publish breakthrough findings in Nature Physics and IEEE journals
- Mentor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers in quantum information theory
- Establish industry partnerships with Fortune 500 companies for real-world quantum deployments
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years industry experience
- Published research in top-tier quantum computing journals (minimum 3 peer-reviewed papers)
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes and fault-tolerant computing frameworks
- Proven track record of securing government research grants
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq) and simulation tools
- Experience leading teams of 10+ technical professionals
- Demonstrated understanding of quantum decoherence mitigation techniques
- Strong background in quantum machine learning applications
