Responsibilities
- Lead research and development of next-generation technologies with 5-10 year implementation horizons
- Design scalable architectures for quantum-resistant systems and AI-human collaboration platforms
- Partner with product teams to define strategic roadmaps aligning with 2026 technological inflection points
- Identify and validate emerging technologies through rapid prototyping and proof-of-concept initiatives
- Present technical vision to executive stakeholders and industry thought leaders
- Mentor junior engineers on future-proof development methodologies
- Contribute to Horizon's IP portfolio through patents and white papers
Qualifications
- 10+ years in software engineering with 5+ years in emerging technology domains
- Expertise in at least two of: Quantum Computing, Advanced AI, Biotech Integration, or Sustainable Tech
- Proven track record of shipping production systems with 7+ year relevance
- Strong background in systems architecture for high-impact, large-scale applications
- Experience with futures methodologies and technology trend analysis
- PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Published research in top-tier conferences (NeurIPS, SIGGRAPH, etc.)
- Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
