Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional R&D initiatives for next-generation computing paradigms
- Develop and prototype quantum algorithms with commercial viability targets
- Architect ethical AI frameworks for autonomous systems in 2026+ applications
- Secure federal grants and industry partnerships for emerging tech projects
- Mentor junior researchers through our Future Leaders Fellowship program
- Publish findings in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, IEEE) and industry whitepapers
- Contribute to policy discussions on technology governance and ethical deployment
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Physics, or related field with 5+ years R&D experience
- Published research in quantum computing, machine learning, or advanced materials
- Proven track record of securing government research grants ($1M+ preferred)
- Expertise in Python/C++ and quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Familiarity with DOE/NIST emerging technology standards and compliance
- Experience with agile development in research environments
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex concepts into commercial applications
- Strong network connections with DARPA, IARPA, or similar innovation bodies
