Responsibilities
- Develop and execute 5-year innovation roadmaps for emerging technologies (quantum computing, neuromorphic AI, synthetic biology)
- Lead cross-functional teams of researchers, engineers, and designers in prototype development
- Establish strategic partnerships with academic institutions and Fortune 500 companies
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify disruptive technologies with 2026 commercialization potential
- Secure and manage $15M+ annual innovation budgets for R&D initiatives
- Present findings to C-suite executives and external stakeholders via thought leadership platforms
- Drive patent portfolios and IP strategies for next-gen technological assets
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 8+ years R&D leadership
- Proven track record of launching at least two breakthrough technologies to market
- Expertise in at least three emerging technology domains (quantum, AI, bioengineering, etc.)
- Experience managing cross-continental innovation teams and distributed R&D operations
- Deep understanding of regulatory landscapes for emerging technologies (FDA, FCC, EPA)
- Published author in top-tier scientific journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Fluency in Mandarin or Japanese for global stakeholder engagement
