Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing 5-year technological roadmaps for quantum, bio-computing, and decentralized systems
- Secure $5M+ in R&D grants and partnerships with DARPA, NSF, and private innovation funds
- Architect patent portfolios for next-gen technologies with 20+ filings annually
- Present breakthrough innovations to C-suite executives and venture capital partners
- Mentor PhD researchers and engineering fellows in applied futurism methodologies
- Drive commercialization of lab prototypes through startup incubation programs
- Publish thought leadership in IEEE Spectrum and Nature Futures journal
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Physics, or Engineering with 8+ years in R&D leadership
- Proven track record of launching at least 3 patent-pending technologies
- Expertise in emerging tech verticals: quantum computing, synthetic biology, or neuromorphic systems
- Experience securing federal grants ($1M+ preferred)
- Published research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, or ACM)
- Strong network with academic institutions and national labs
- Proficiency in futures forecasting tools (e.g., Delphi method, scenario planning)
- Exceptional communication skills for technical and executive audiences
