Responsibilities
- Lead horizon scanning to identify disruptive technologies and societal shifts impacting 2026+ landscapes
- Develop strategic roadmaps for AI, quantum computing, and biotechnology integration
- Present findings to C-suite executives and board members through compelling data visualizations
- Partner with R&D teams to prototype future-facing solutions with 5-10 year viability
- Author thought leadership publications positioning Horizon as the innovation authority
- Mentor cross-functional teams in future-proofing methodologies
- Secure $2M+ annual innovation grants from federal and private sector partners
Qualifications
- PhD in Futures Studies, Systems Engineering, or related field with 8+ years experience
- Proven track record of forecasting technological adoption with 85%+ accuracy
- Expertise in scenario planning, Delphi methodology, and trend analysis frameworks
- Published work in Nature, MIT Tech Review, or equivalent tier-1 journals
- Proficiency in Python, R, and data visualization tools (Tableau, D3.js)
- Experience securing federal SBIR/STTR grants and DARPA partnerships
- Deep understanding of ethical implications of exponential technologies
