Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error-correction protocols for scalable quantum systems
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping hybrid quantum-classical architectures
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors
- Secure federal grants and industry partnerships for quantum initiatives
- Mentor PhD researchers and contribute to quantum education programs
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Publication record in quantum information science or theoretical computer science
- Proficiency in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability, and complexity theory
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding ($1M+ preferred)
- Experience with quantum hardware integration (IBM, Rigetti, IonQ)
