Job Description
Join Nexus Labs at the forefront of quantum innovation as we prepare for the 2026 quantum computing revolution. We seek a visionary Research Scientist to develop next-generation quantum algorithms and protocols that will redefine computational boundaries. You'll collaborate with Nobel laureates and cutting-edge engineers in our state-of-the-art facility, pioneering solutions for cryptography, optimization, and machine learning challenges that seemed impossible yesterday.
Our team operates at the intersection of theoretical physics and applied mathematics, pushing the limits of what quantum systems can achieve. We offer competitive equity packages, unlimited research budgets, and direct access to IBM's 2026 quantum cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for complex optimization problems
- Lead cross-functional R&D teams in prototyping quantum error correction protocols
- Publish breakthrough research in peer-reviewed journals (Nature, Science, PRL)
- Develop quantum-resistant cryptographic systems for commercial applications
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum circuit performance
- Secure $5M+ in annual research grants from DARPA and NSF
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (2020-2026 graduates preferred)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in quantum algorithm development or quantum error correction
- Expertise in topological quantum computing or fault-tolerant architectures
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Experience with high-performance computing clusters (HPC) and GPU acceleration
- Track record of securing government or industry research funding
