Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware prototypes at cryogenic temperatures
- Develop error-correction protocols to enhance quantum coherence in 50+ qubit systems
- Collaborate with AI teams to hybridize classical-quantum computing workflows
- Publish findings in top-tier journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure $2M+ in annual R&D funding through NSF and DoE grants
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent industry experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with superconducting qubit architectures
- Published research in Nature/Science/Physical Review X journals
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or custom quantum simulation frameworks
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction codes (surface, LDPC)
- Strong background in machine learning and high-performance computing
- Security clearance eligibility (for DoE collaborations)
