Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Conduct advanced research in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing architectures
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop quantum software interfaces and optimization tools
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present findings at leading international conferences
- Lead cross-functional projects bridging quantum physics, computer science, and applied mathematics
- Secure external research funding through NSF and DARPA grant applications
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum computing education initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum information theory
- Deep understanding of quantum mechanics principles and quantum circuit design
- Expertise in at least one classical programming language (Python, C++, or Java)
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical implementations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and presentations
