Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental research on quantum hardware systems including superconducting qubits and ion traps
- Develop error-correction protocols and fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures
- Publish groundbreaking research in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and foster cross-functional collaboration between physics, computer science, and engineering teams
- Secure external funding through NSF, DARPA, and industry partnerships
- Contribute to open-source quantum computing frameworks and contribute to quantum standards development
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years postdoctoral experience
- Expertise in quantum algorithm design and quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Strong publication record in Nature/Science or IEEE journals
- Proficiency in quantum hardware simulation and experimental validation techniques
- Experience with quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing architectures
- Demonstrated ability to secure research grants and manage complex projects
- Excellent communication skills with ability to translate complex concepts for diverse audiences
