Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead experiments on our 128-qubit quantum processor to achieve quantum advantage
- Collaborate with hardware teams to mitigate quantum decoherence challenges
- Develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computing
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present at conferences like IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to open-source quantum frameworks
- Secure $1M+ in annual research grants from NSF and DARPA
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum specialization
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing experience with Qiskit/Cirq
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum information theory
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and quantum circuit optimization
- Experience with superconducting qubit systems or trapped ion technologies
- Demonstrated ability to secure competitive research funding
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum mechanics fundamentals
