Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization problems
- Develop error mitigation strategies for NISQ-era quantum processors
- Collaborate with hardware teams to define qubit architecture requirements
- Lead quantum machine learning projects for pattern recognition
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure $2M+ in government grants for quantum research initiatives
- Mentor junior scientists in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Quantum Information with 3+ years research
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent quantum programming frameworks
- Published work in quantum error correction or topological qubits
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion quantum hardware
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum mechanics
- Proven track record of securing NSF or DARPA grants
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
