Responsibilities
- Develop novel quantum algorithms for practical applications in cryptography and machine learning
- Design and optimize quantum circuits using Qiskit and Cirq frameworks
- Collaborate with hardware teams to mitigate decoherence in 50+ qubit systems
- Lead cross-functional projects with AI and materials science divisions
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals and conferences
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants through NSF and DoD programs
- Mentor PhD interns in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Quantum Engineering (or equivalent research experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published work in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Proficiency in linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and computational complexity theory
- Experience with high-performance computing clusters and GPU acceleration
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical concepts into experimental prototypes
- Strong track record of securing research funding
