Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Develop error-correction protocols to enhance quantum coherence in next-generation hardware
- Collaborate with hardware teams to prototype and test quantum processors at 100+ qubit scales
- Lead cross-functional research initiatives with materials science and AI divisions
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international quantum conferences
- Mentor PhD candidates and interns in quantum information theory
- Secure external research funding through NSF and DARPA grant applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years industry experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and simulation frameworks
- Proven track record of publishing high-impact quantum research papers
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Strong background in linear algebra, complex analysis, and statistical mechanics
- Experience with superconducting qubit or ion-trap quantum systems
- Ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical hardware implementations
