Responsibilities
- Develop novel quantum algorithms for machine learning and cryptography applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum error correction protocols on 50+ qubit systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to design scalable quantum processor architectures
- Publish 2-3 high-impact research papers annually in Nature/Science journals
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum information theory
- Secure $1M+ in annual research grants from NSF/DoE
- Translate theoretical models into functional quantum software prototypes
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Quantum Information with 3+ years postdoc experience
- Proven expertise in quantum gate manipulation and circuit optimization
- Publication record in quantum computing or related fields (minimum 5 peer-reviewed papers)
- Familiarity with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Experience with cryogenic systems and superconducting qubit manipulation
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal research funding
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum mechanics
- Patents or open-source contributions in quantum computing preferred
