Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization problems
- Develop error-correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computing
- Lead experimental validation of quantum systems using cryogenic setups
- Publish groundbreaking research in peer-reviewed journals and conferences
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum-processor architectures
- Secure $1M+ in research grants from NSF and DARPA
- Mentor junior researchers and foster cross-departmental innovation
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing research experience
- Expertise in quantum algorithms (Shor's, Grover's, VQE) and error correction
- Proficiency with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Strong publication record in Nature/Science or top-tier conferences
- Demonstrated ability to secure government research funding
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion quantum systems
