Responsibilities
- Lead multi-disciplinary R&D teams in developing next-gen quantum computing architectures
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation challenges
- Drive innovation in quantum error correction techniques for scalable systems
- Collaborate with Fortune 500 partners to deploy quantum solutions in finance, logistics, and healthcare
- Secure $5M+ annual research grants from government and private institutions
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers and publish findings in Nature/Science journals
- Shape industry standards through IEEE and ACM quantum computing committees
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with quantum computing platforms (IBM, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Proven track record of publishing high-impact quantum research (h-index > 20)
- Expertise in quantum machine learning and hybrid classical-quantum workflows
- Strong background in superconducting qubit manipulation and cryogenic systems
- Experience securing DoE/NSF grants and managing multi-million dollar budgets
- Deep knowledge of quantum security protocols and post-quantum cryptography
