Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation challenges
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing quantum error correction protocols
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize qubit architectures and coherence times
- Secure patents and publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals
- Develop quantum computing SDKs and developer ecosystems
- Represent company at international quantum computing conferences
- Manage $5M+ R&D budgets and vendor relationships
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of quantum computing research experience at top-tier labs
- Published peer-reviewed papers on quantum algorithms or hardware
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Experience with cryogenic systems and quantum control electronics
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum information theory
- Proven leadership of technical research teams
- Clearance for government quantum research projects preferred
