Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm development for cryptography, optimization, and machine learning applications
- Design and implement quantum error correction protocols for fault-tolerant systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to integrate quantum processors with classical computing frameworks
- Publish cutting-edge research in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Secure federal and private research funding through grant proposals
- Mentor PhD researchers and drive talent development in quantum sciences
- Develop roadmaps for quantum computing commercialization by 2026
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years quantum research experience
- Proven expertise in quantum algorithms (Shor's, Grover's, QAOA) and quantum error correction
- Strong publication record in Nature/Science/Physical Review journals
- Experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and simulation frameworks
- Background in cryogenic engineering or superconducting qubit systems
- Demonstrated ability to secure $1M+ in research grants
- Leadership experience managing interdisciplinary research teams
- Clearance for DoD/NASA projects preferred
