Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm research and development for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Design and implement quantum error correction protocols for fault-tolerant systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to bridge theoretical concepts with physical quantum processors
- Publish high-impact research in peer-reviewed journals and industry conferences
- Develop strategic roadmaps for quantum computing adoption across healthcare and logistics sectors
- Mentor PhD researchers and cross-functional innovation teams
- Secure competitive research grants and partnerships with national laboratories
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 8+ years of research experience
- Published record in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction (Nature/Science/IEEE)
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Quipper, Cirq) and simulation frameworks
- Proven ability to translate theoretical models into experimental prototypes
- Experience securing $1M+ in research funding from NSF/DARPA/industry consortia
- Strong background in superconducting qubits or topological quantum systems
- Exceptional leadership skills managing multidisciplinary research teams
