Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead quantum error-correction research to achieve fault-tolerant computing
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop quantum-classical hybrid systems
- Secure $2M+ in research grants from NSF, DARPA, and private foundations
- Mentor a team of 5+ quantum research scientists and engineers
- Develop intellectual property portfolio with minimum 3 patent applications/year
- Present breakthrough findings at IEEE Quantum Week and Q2B conferences
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of quantum computing research with published Nature/Science papers
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or quantum circuit optimization frameworks
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion quantum processors
- Proven track record of securing government research funding
- Strong background in quantum error correction and topological quantum computing
- Exceptional ability to translate complex quantum concepts for non-technical stakeholders
