As a key member of our Future Technologies division, you'll lead the development of fault-tolerant quantum processors and hybrid quantum-classical frameworks. Our hybrid work model combines flexible remote collaboration with in-person innovation sessions at our downtown Austin campus, complete with quantum lab access and maker spaces.
Responsibilities
- Design scalable quantum computing architectures for 2026 deployment
- Lead research on topological qubit stabilization techniques
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical optimization algorithms
- Collaborate with hardware teams on cryogenic system integration
- Create quantum error mitigation frameworks for commercial applications
- Present findings at IEEE Quantum Computing conferences
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years quantum computing architecture experience
- Published research in Nature/Science on quantum systems
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or quantum programming frameworks
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes (surface, color codes)
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence mechanisms
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion qubit systems
- Strong background in topological quantum field theory
