Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain 2026 technology adoption roadmaps across AI, IoT, and blockchain domains
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify emerging technologies with 3-5 year commercialization potential
- Lead cross-functional workshops to align technical strategy with business objectives
- Establish KPIs for measuring technology ROI and innovation maturity
- Build strategic partnerships with academic institutions and tech incubators
- Present technology forecasts to executive leadership and investor boards
- Mentor technical teams in emerging skill areas (e.g., quantum algorithms, generative AI)
- Author white papers on future technology trends and their industry implications
Qualifications
- 10+ years in strategic technology planning with 3+ years in future-tech forecasting
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business with tech focus
- Proven experience translating technology trends into revenue-generating initiatives
- Expertise in at least two emerging domains (quantum computing, neuromorphic chips, etc.)
- Certification in strategic foresight or technology assessment preferred
- Strong network within Austin's tech ecosystem and national innovation hubs
- Published thought leadership in technology journals or industry forums
- Experience scaling technology strategies in hyper-growth environments
