This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic foresight to transform emerging technologies into scalable solutions.
As a key member of our R&D division, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify disruptive trends, evaluate emerging technologies, and develop implementation strategies that position Nexus as an industry leader. You'll work in our state-of-the-art innovation hub in downtown San Francisco, surrounded by a team of world-class engineers and thought leaders.
Responsibilities
- Architect and execute technology roadmaps targeting 2026 market disruption
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies (quantum computing, AI ethics, biotech convergence)
- Lead strategic partnerships with academic institutions and industry pioneers
- Develop innovation frameworks for rapid prototyping and validation
- Present strategic insights to C-suite and board stakeholders
- Mentor junior researchers and foster a culture of experimental innovation
Qualifications
- 10+ years in technology strategy or R&D leadership
- Proven track record in emerging technology commercialization
- Expertise in at least two of: AI/ML, quantum computing, neurotech, or sustainable tech
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Published research or patents in forward-looking technologies
- Experience managing multi-million dollar innovation budgets
- Strong network within Silicon Valley tech ecosystem
