Responsibilities
- Lead horizon scanning and technology forecasting to identify breakthrough innovations with 3-5 year commercialization potential
- Develop strategic roadmaps for emerging technologies including quantum computing, advanced AI, and biotech convergence
- Establish KPI frameworks to measure innovation ROI and technology adoption readiness
- Forge partnerships with academic institutions and startups for collaborative R&D initiatives
- Present technology strategy to executive leadership and board stakeholders
- Mentor cross-functional teams on future technology implications and implementation pathways
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years in technology strategy or R&D leadership with Fortune 500 or scaling tech firms
- Proven track record in commercializing emerging technologies (quantum, AI, biotech preferred)
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- Certification in Technology Foresight or Innovation Management (e.g., CFTE, MIT Professional Education)
- Deep understanding of technology adoption lifecycle and diffusion theory
- Exceptional analytical skills with experience in scenario planning and trend analysis
- Strong executive presence with experience presenting to C-suite and board levels
