Responsibilities
- Develop and implement 5-year technology roadmaps for emerging fields (quantum computing, biotech fusion, AI ethics)
- Lead cross-functional R&D initiatives in partnership with MIT and Stanford research labs
- Analyze market disruption vectors and identify high-growth innovation opportunities
- Secure $50M+ in R&D funding through strategic partnerships and grant acquisition
- Present future tech forecasts to C-suite and board members quarterly
- Build and mentor a team of 15+ futurists and research scientists
- Drive patent portfolio development with 20+ new IP filings annually
Qualifications
- 15+ years in technology strategy with 5+ years in future tech forecasting
- PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Proven track record leading $10M+ R&D initiatives
- Deep expertise in at least two emerging tech domains (AI, quantum, biotech)
- Published research in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Experience securing federal innovation grants (DARPA, NSF)
- Exceptional communication skills for technical and executive audiences
