Responsibilities
- Develop 5-year strategic roadmaps for emerging technologies including quantum computing, neural interfaces, and autonomous systems
- Lead cross-functional innovation sprints to prototype 2026 solutions in our Austin R&D lab
- Analyze global tech trends to identify paradigm-shifting opportunities in climate resilience and human augmentation
- Present future scenarios to C-suite executives and venture capital partners
- Manage a portfolio of moonshot projects with $5M+ annual R&D budgets
- Author whitepapers on ethical AI frameworks and sustainable tech adoption
Qualifications
- 10+ years in technology strategy or innovation leadership with proven 5+ year horizon planning
- Expertise in at least two emerging tech domains (quantum, biotech, AR/VR, climate tech)
- Track record of implementing future-focused solutions in Fortune 500 environments
- PhD or equivalent in Futures Studies, Systems Engineering, or related field
- Proficiency in scenario modeling tools (e.g., Gartner, Forrester methodologies)
- Published thought leadership in tech ethics or innovation management
- Experience securing federal/state innovation grants for forward-looking initiatives
