Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain horizon-scanning frameworks identifying disruptive technologies with 3-7 year adoption curves
- Produce annual 'State of the Future' reports synthesizing geopolitical, technological, and environmental megatrends
- Design scenario-planning models for board-level decision-making under uncertainty
- Lead cross-functional innovation sprints with R&D, product, and policy teams
- Establish partnerships with academic institutions and government foresight initiatives
- Mentor junior futurists while publishing thought leadership in industry journals
- Quantify market readiness for emerging technologies through patent analysis and venture capital trends
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Futures Studies, Systems Thinking, or equivalent professional certification
- 5+ years in strategic foresight, innovation consulting, or technology forecasting
- Proficiency in horizon scanning tools (e.g., TrendWatching, Futures Platform)
- Published research on exponential technologies or long-range scenario planning
- Experience with probabilistic forecasting and Monte Carlo simulations
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex futures into actionable business strategies
- Portfolio showcasing 3+ successful future-oriented projects
- Deep knowledge of at least two emerging tech domains (AI, quantum, synthetic biology, etc.)
