Responsibilities
- Lead horizon scanning and trend analysis across biotechnology, AI governance, space colonization, and sustainable energy sectors
- Develop strategic innovation roadmaps for 2026-2030 with measurable KPIs
- Facilitate cross-disciplinary workshops with engineers, designers, and futurists
- Author predictive white papers and scenario-planning frameworks for executive decision-making
- Manage pilot programs for emerging technologies with $5M+ annual R&D budget
- Represent company at global futurism forums and industry summits
- Mentor junior innovators in speculative design and systems thinking methodologies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Futures Studies, Innovation Management, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 7+ years in strategic foresight, R&D leadership, or technology innovation roles
- Proven experience with scenario planning, Delphi methods, and trend analysis frameworks
- Deep expertise in at least two emerging technology domains (quantum computing, synthetic biology, etc.)
- Published thought leadership in futurism or innovation journals
- Proficiency in foresight tools like Trend Hunter, Gartner Hype Cycle, or own proprietary models
- Exceptional communication skills for translating complex futures into actionable strategies
