Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for computational optimization problems
- Lead experimental quantum computing research using superconducting qubit systems
- Develop error correction protocols for quantum processors beyond current NISQ limitations
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design next-generation quantum architectures
- Publish high-impact research in leading quantum computing journals and conferences
- Secure and manage multi-million dollar research grants from NSF and DARPA
- Mentor junior researchers and PhD candidates in quantum information science
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant quantum computing
- Strong publication record in quantum computing research (Nature/Science/Physical Review)
- Proficiency with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, or IonQ)
- Demonstrated ability to secure competitive research funding
- Experience with high-performance computing and parallel processing
